Good notes

What great meeting notes always capture

  • Decisions — what was agreed, not just what was discussed.
  • Action items with an owner and a due date for each one.
  • Who was there, so it's clear who's accountable.
  • Open questions to revisit, so nothing falls through the cracks.
  • A short summary at the top, for people who skim.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are these meeting templates free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up or account. Pick a meeting type, fill in the basics, and copy or download the template as many times as you like.
What's the difference between meeting notes and meeting minutes?
Meeting notes are an informal record of the key points, decisions and action items — useful for most meetings. Minutes are a more formal, structured record, often required for board or legal meetings, that document attendance, motions and votes. This tool offers both styles; the board template follows the minutes format.
In what format can I download the template?
You can copy it to your clipboard, or download it as a Markdown (.md) or plain-text (.txt) file. Markdown pastes cleanly into Notion, Obsidian, GitHub, Slack and most note apps.
Can I use these for formal board minutes?
The board template gives you the standard structure — quorum, approval of previous minutes, reports, resolutions and recorded votes. For legally binding minutes, have them reviewed against your jurisdiction's and bylaws' requirements before adopting them.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. The whole tool runs in your browser with plain JavaScript. The title, date and attendees you enter stay on your device and are never uploaded or stored by us.
Can't something just write the notes for me?
Yes — that's what MeetingMemo does. It records, transcribes and summarises your meetings on your Mac, producing notes like these automatically, with the decisions and action items already filled in.
